IN THE WORKSHOP

At Southwark Cycles we know the beating heart of every great bike shop is a great Workshop! Southwark Cycles has one of the busiest workshops in the city. Our prices are very competitive, and our mechanics are some of the most experienced. We try to return all service jobs on the day, and carry a deep stock of road bike spares in order to help achieve that. We’re set up to service all bikes.

IN THE WORKSHOP

We know how painful it can be to be stuck without your bike! Our mechanics service bikes daily between 10am and 6pm. To ensure your bike will be ready to ride for you at the end of the day, we ask that bikes are dropped no later than 2pm or the proceeding evening if more convenient.

For regular commuting cyclists

The CITY SAFE SERVICE is here for those healthy eco-friendly commuters. We are here to keep your bike in a well-maintained condition, so that you can get to work and home safely and quickly.

This service will primarily an inspection, focusing on your brakes for efficient stopping, smooth gear transitions and tightening of nuts and bolts to get rid of the unwanted rattling. This service is highly recommended to stay safe on the roads and gives thorough cleaning of the frame, fork, and wheels.

GENERAL SERVICE

For cyclists enthusiasts

We recommend the THE COMPLETE SERVICE for the daily cycling enthusiasts  whether you are commuting or for leisure, this service is  encouraged for your bike every 2,000 – 3,000 miles or every 6-10 months depending on weather and usage.

This  service is fit for road, gravel and mountain bikes which will accumulate dirt and can result in rust formation that can affect disc brakes and premature damage of your drivetrain and other vital components. We will help revive and replace your components so you can continue doing what you enjoy.

The service includes everything in the BASIC SERVICE plus:

  • Drive train (chain, cassette and chainring) cleaned, checked and re-lubricated or replaced if necessary (parts not included)
  • Wheels, hubs and rims checked for damage and cleaned
  • Bearings checked for free movement and adjusted (if applicable)
  • Headset checked for free movement and adjusted as necessary
  • Bottom bracket checked for free movement
  • Brakes checked for effective operation and adjusted or replaced if necessary
  • Brake callipers removed, cleaned and re-greased
  • Wheels checked over, spokes checked for damage and tension.
  • Forks are cleaned, seat post removed, cleaned and replaced

FULL SERVICE

For cyclists enthusiasts

This is the pinnacle of our tune ups and is extremely recommended for the adrenaline seeking dirt jumper, time trialist and the marathon cyclists.

THE PRO + SERVICE will make your pride and joy look like it came straight out the box. We conduct an extensive degrease and cleaning as we completely strip down and rebuild your bike. This is also suitable for electric bikes which need software updates and bikes with hydraulic brakes and suspensions and tubeless tyres.

The service includes everything in the BASIC SERVICE & GENERAL SERVICE‘ plus:

  • Both hubs are taken apart and bearings inspected for wear, replacements installed if necessary
  • Bottom bracket inspected, removed, and replaced with fresh anti seize product and grease
  • Headset is taken apart and inspected for wear, replacement quoted if necessary
  • The bike is stripped and cleaned thoroughly
  • All components removed, checked for wear, cleaned and re-lubricated
  • Threads cleaned and checked
  • Frame Clean and Polish, Thread Cleaning/Facing
  • Derailleur Hanger Alignment
  • Inner Cable and Housing Replacement
